Letter to the Editor
I should like to draw your attention to an evening of information and discussion about Global Climate Change. The event will take place on Saturday 20 May at 7:00 pm at St Andrews Church in Heckington.
Talks will explain the causes and effects of Global Climate Change and identify the devastating impacts that increasingly erratic weather systems are having on human communities across the globe. We will also find out about Christian Aid's "Campaign for Climate Justice" and that organisation's work to alleviate suffering in affected communities. More optimistically, we will show the audience how organisations in our own county are reducing their carbon footprints and how we, as a community and as individuals, can also do our bit.
We would welcome, particularly, a young audience, of the generation who will be most affected by the changing climate.
Tickets cost £5, which will include food. Beer (8-sail brewery) and soft drinks will be available at very reasonable prices. All proceeds will be donated to Christian Aid.
I should be most grateful if you could publicise the event in your "newsroom".
Many thanks and kind regards,
St Andrews PCC
