SPOTLIGHT ON: Heckington Young Farmers’ Club

It is time for Heckington Young Farmers’ Club to start again after the summer break. The first meeting is on Tuesday 10th October, 7.30pm at The Pavillion in Heckington. This will be a New Member’s Night for current members to re-join and also for new members to come along and see what joining Heckington Young Farmers’ could do for them.

Young Farmers’ is a great rural youth organisation for those between 10 and 26 years of age and one of the largest in the UK. Potential members don’t have to be farmers or from a farming background, but a love of rural life and agriculture is an advantage. Heckington YFC is a club run by the members for the members. We will be appointing a new chairman, secretary and treasurer along with other key roles. This makes it a great way for young people to develop many skills. There are great opportunities to support local charities, work with local businesses, travel, compete and of course make new friends and have a varied and dynamic social life!

It would be great to see lots of new faces so we can plan a programme of interesting activities and take part in county, regional and hopefully national competitions as well as mixing and socialising with the other 15 clubs in Lincolnshire.
